CITRUS COUNTY DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (DEC)

Hernando, Florida. December 5, 2024 - The Citrus County Democratic Executive Committee (DEC) held its quadrennial elections this week at their office in Hernando. Officers and State Committee members were elected from the DEC’s membership and will serve four year terms. We congratulate the following individuals on their elections:
Chair - John Comer; Vice Chair - Jeannette Messersmith; Secretary - Janet Genova; Treasurer- Rich Evans; State Committee Members - Mary Hedges and Nathan Sharp.
John Comer, Chair of the Citrus DEC said: ”I look forward to working with our new leadership team as we head into the next election cycle. We’re realistic that flipping Florida is a long term project, and that starts here in Citrus with showing our neighbors that Democrats are the party that fights for everyone’s American Dream, not just for billionaires and their friends.”

The Citrus County DEC is responsible for managing the affairs of the Florida Democratic Party (FDP) within the county. Membership of the DEC includes elected Precinct Committeemen and Committeewomen who represent the registered voters of their precinct.
